Got me on this one James, looks WW1 but could be wrong! As for pennants I never spent enough time on the upper deck to know what a pennant was. But that certainly looks like a Yankee flag

Too easy James.  If you visit Falmouth and go to Fish Strand Quay you will see the plaque with news of Trafalgar; ten yards to the right second plaque for operation chariot and the five V.C.s won.

Easy, peasy!!!!!!!! Bring on the tough ones.

Now this story may not be true, but I heard in pub that the government had sold the Royal Navy to pay the M.P.s their expenses ? Well maybe not, but I have just read an R.N.A journal,(area 10),April 2007, where-in their president quoted part of prophetic speach made in the Nelson era.

" It is upon the Navy, under the good providence of God,that the safety honour and welfare of this realm do chiefly depend".

I would be quite happy to argue this case to be every bit as true today as it was then, with anyone !

A great article. >:(

Hi James
If you want to come walking with us in the Yorkshire Dales in November you are more than welcome.  We are mostly geriatric but you would be introduced to Black Sheep beer and Black Sheep!!!!! Grubs good as well.  Black Bull Hotel, Reeth, regardless of the weather.

A run ashore / Subic Bay
« on: April 06, 2008, 12:46:58 PM »
Hi all, Subic Bay was a run ashore to remember! shame about all the Americans clogging up the place, although I remember that their PX club was good for meals and drink at cheap prices.
It was very educatational for students of the world affairs!,and one could get things then unknown to medical science, with no effort at all. Entertainment was a bit different too,not that I would know much about that, but I was told it was so.
