Hi James
With regard to our latest "visitors" to our web site. My guess is that it is probably a small group of time wasters or maybe the same person posting spoof messages under a different name.
A similar thing happened recently to another web site that I am a member of which is run for members of my local fishing club where we were inundated with rubbish messages and people either trying to sell things or more worryingly requesting e mail addresses. Given the real issues around identity theft and computer abuse I would warn everyone to take care and not treat messages from some quarters as just a harmless bit of fun.
As I am not really an expert on these matters I have no idea how they managed to get permissions to post but we had to tighten up our log on protocol which had the right effect in halting the postings from these pests.
I really feel that something needs to be done to clear them off this website as I for one would rather read messages from other old salts and not have to wade through the drivel that has been recently posted.
I know I may have been a bit flippant in suggesting that we were being contacted by another life force!! but enoughs enough. Time to roll out the plank and in the age old tradition make them take a short walk!!!

Hi Gary sorry to have taken a time in responding have been on holidays. I am with you re rubbish being posted,
It is a bit sad that there are so many clowns out there who seem to have so little to do but post rubbish. We will have to see what can be done to curtail it. A lot of people are now enjoying viewing our Vic site, and although we need more input, it has got to make sense, and be in the spirit within which this site was set up.
