Too easy James.  If you visit Falmouth and go to Fish Strand Quay you will see the plaque with news of Trafalgar; ten yards to the right second plaque for operation chariot and the five V.C.s won.

Easy, peasy!!!!!!!! Bring on the tough ones.

Got me on this one James, looks WW1 but could be wrong! As for pennants I never spent enough time on the upper deck to know what a pennant was. But that certainly looks like a Yankee flag

Don't let the flag put you off.

And just a little later than WW1

Well, Cath got it. It's the Mighty Hood on the Empire Cruise.

Next one - I don't want the ship.

Remember, not the ship but the name of the Naval Commander who was committed to the deep from this ship in 1967. Just to help you, a photo of the actual committal.

Look closely and you'll see the name of the ship.

Mike,

It's not Lionel "Buster" Crabbe, you are about a decade out.

If you want to read the official cabinet papers, inter-office memos, press reports and other documents they can be downloaded from the RNA 10 Area document Archive.

Crabbe Papers (90.5Mb .pdf)

Back to the quiz, thinking hats on.

James, Does it have any connections with 007?

It was James Bond in You Only Live Twice.

The ship was HMS Tenby, and I believe the filming took place off Malta in mid-winter.

Hi, the last three funneller would be the Bristol and is the pennant the church flag?  a combination of the George cross and Dutch flag signifying a truce between the warring parties during church services.

regards :)
