Friday 6 June 2014
A commemorative service to mark the 70th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings will be held at the National Memorial Arboretum on Friday 6th June.

The Normandy Landings – codenamed Operation Neptune - were the landing operations of the Allied invasion of Normandy which took place on 6 June 1944.  It was the largest seaborne invasion in history and began the offensive of German-occupied Western Europe, which led to an Allied victory in the Second World War.

The service will include a wreath laying, and a silence, at the Normandy Veterans Memorial. The Bolesterstone Male Voice Choir will also be perfomring outside the Visitor Centre after the service.

Venue: The Millennium Chapel Time: 10.45am
