St Georges Day at the NMA went off well as usual. The weather was kind and this year as most of you will know we had a special talk from Captain Quinn telling us about the Naval Services Memorial, conception and manufacturing. Despite my original misgivings about a large muliticoloured set of glass sails. On viewing the Memorial, I have to say its excellent. I think now other future memorials will be judged by how they compare, this creation does make a statement, and is a thing of beauty, particulaly when viewed with the sun shining through the panes, I am assured that it projects a remarkable vision across the base area at sun rise and sunset.

I was particularly pleased to see our shipmate Lt. Hoult in attendance, despite not being in full health, and it was noted that he was wearing his recently awarded Artic star medal, (a decoration well earned)
Thanks again for all who attended, (even those who drank my rum).  Hope to see lots more in Coventry in October.

That paint job looks just as good as I would expect from ex Victorious sailors.

I am assuming that Crash had a hand in the job ? possibly Topsey may have been involved ??

Anyway just to let you know that my house is in desperate need of an out side painting job, muster in Leeds before the weather gets bad (or worse),
I do not expect the job (only take you a few days) to be done FOC, no way shipmates, there will be a full tot to each of you , (on completion).

ps that's only if you do a good job of course.
