Visited Pompey  last week  the dockyard  you might call it      Quiet

3rd April 2008  Quiet day in the Dockyard    HMS Warrior
     RFA Orangeleaf   HMS Exeter    plus up the Trot   and a few more

Thanks for the pictures. Keep them coming - when the gallery has been finished ( - expect an MOD style timetable!) I'll put them all up is separate galleries.

Excellent photo Dave, must go up that tower next time in Pompey. Hardly recognise the Dockyard now, think I can just  make out the Victory.  All the best,  Mike D :) :) :)

 The Dockyard  3rd April 2008     just to the right of the Victory is the Mary Rose exhibition

Now this story may not be true,but I heard in pub that the government had sold the Royal Navy to pay the M.P.s their expenses ? Well maybe not, but I have just read an R.N.A journal,(area 10),April 2007, where-in their president quoted part of prophetic speach made in the Nelson era.

" It is upon the Navy,under the good providence of God,that the safety honour and welfare of this realm do chiefly depend".

 I would be quite happy to argue this case to be every bit as true today as it was then, with anyone !
